I made a tutorial, because Shino's hat was hard to make.

Don't copy the design on the hat, I couldn't remember what it looked like, so this is ish.

The hat really does stick better on a wig.

Remember, it will fall off easily--it's basically a massive pillow.

Sorry if it not useful. I hate photoshop lol

Wow thanks. :D I'm actually thinking of doing a Shino cosplay later in life.

great tutorial, thanks ^^
i was wondering more about the metal part of the hat, my hat is already done but i am not sure how to attach the metal part, i m thinking about making it out of craft foam but i think it will fall off because of the weight of the tassel. do you think you can tell me more about how you made/attached yours and how well it stayed on? thanks again XDDD

yup!

Actually, my dad made it, but I watched him. Haha.

Anyway, he had some really thin, flexible wood. He cut one and made it into a cone, then carpenter-glued it closed. Then he cut a strip and glued it so that it made a short, fat cylinder. Then, he cut a circle. I glued silver paper to the pieces, then used double sided tape to stick them together. I also used double sided tape to attach it to my hat :3 It actually stayed on pretty well. My hat fell off sooo many times from the wind, but the metal part didn't fall off.

I'm redoing Shino, but I'm keeping the metal part. I hot glued over anywhere I had taped...

The good thing about using wood is that it turned out to be really sturdy. If it gets dented, you can pop the dent back out pretty easily.

Initially, my dad built the piece around the tassel, I think. But it fell out after a looong time, so I suggest hot gluing that, too.

The thing about craft foam is that its pretty thin. Also, you have to make sure you seal it like crazy, otherwise the paint will have a strange look. And yeah, the tassel might be too heavy for it... Haha; If foamboard was flexible, that would be better, but it's not...

Well, that's how I *vaguely remember* making it XD; I hope that helps! (Or at least makes some sense...)
